BEIJING, October 28, 2011. Air China, one of the major airlines in China and the only national flag carrier, and TravelSky Technology Limited, the leading provider of information technology solutions for China’s air travel and tourism industries, recently signed a joint development agreement on a new generation Passenger Services System (PSS) project. The two organizations are planning to establish a joint team to complete the project in five years. This agreement is a significant milestone in the process for a new-generation PSS project for China’s Civil Aviation, while also contributing to the IT construction of China’s powerful Civil Aviation national strategy.

In the agreement, Air China and TravelSky have achieved a consensus over many key issues of the PSS project, including the system scope, construction roadmap, timetable, etc. TravelSky will construct the new-generation PSS mainly through independent research and development to acquire intellectual property rights with complete control over the system, and through international cooperation by introducing third-party products to shorten the construction period. Air China will provide support and cooperation to TravelSky during the system construction and migration stages. After completion of the system, Air China will be the first airline to put the system into use.

The new-generation PSS provided by TravelSky will support the sustainable development of Air China through the next decade in expending revenue, enhancing channel management, improving passenger experience, increasing operational efficiency and deepening international cooperation. TravelSky’s new-generation PSS will not only provide community products but will also develop personalized products with Air China features to meet the passenger-centered business objectives of Air China. The new-generation PSS will also support Air China as a leading global airline carrier that operates in a large domestic market, has a significant international footprint, and is a member of the leading global alliance “Star Alliance”.

In addition to Air China, China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines have also reached preliminary cooperation intension agreements with TravelSky on the development of next-generation PSS. The new cooperation agreements and support on new-generation PSS between China’s major airlines and TravelSky is now in full swing.
